3 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
3 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex™ cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup bite-size pretzel
1 cup garlic-flavor bite-size bagel chips or regular-size bagel chips, broken into 1-inch pieces
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
In a Large bowl, mix together Cereal, Nuts, and Pretzels (just a side note, I don’t use the nuts, they can get pricy).
In a small glass bowl, place butter in the microwave and melt.
Sprinkle the seasonings over the mix, and then add Butter. Start mixing right away. Next, drizzle in Worcestershire sauce, and keep mixing.
NOW – Chex tells us to place the bowl in the microwave for 5-6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. Well, I don’t know about you, but my Microwave isn’t that big.
At this point, I line a very page cookie sheet (11″ x 16″) with parchment paper. I spread the mix on the parchment paper, and bake at 350, stirring after 5 minutes, and again after placing back in for an additional 5 minutes. Then I let sit out to cool, and place back in the bowl I mixed in.
Make sure this mix is 100% room temperature before placing in the bowl!! Any type of warm air left in the mix will cause condensation and will cause the mix to go stale!
I’ll be posting a photo “How To” tomorrow on our FaceBook page. Pop over and share the pictures of your Chex Mix, too!
P.S. – try adding some Reese Pieces for a fun Halloween Add-In!
